Photos: Various undergraduate mentees involved in research
I constantly seek opportunities to mentor undergraduate students, particularly involving experimental archaeology.
I have mentored more than 30 undergraduates through the School of Human Evolution and Social Change Reseach Apprenticeship Program and have been a committee member for multiple honor's thesis projects.
I often co-author publications and presentations with my students. In some cases, I help facilitate student-led projects in which they are lead author and will urge students interested in graduate school to undertake independent research.
My favorite part of mentoring is helping students apply to graduate school because I would not be where I am today if it were not for help from past graduate student mentors.
